When mediation is appropriate
Family conflicts often run deeper than other types of disputes. These are relationships you did not always choose, yet they have a significant impact on your life. That is precisely why it is valuable to approach them with care, even when things become difficult.
You can turn to me for mediation in, among others, the following situations:
- separation or relationship breakdown
- arrangements regarding children and parenting
- tensions or misunderstandings within the family
- disputes concerning inheritance or family assets
What I can offer you
I provide a calm and safe space in which you can reconnect in dialogue. As a neutral third party, I facilitate the conversation with attention to each person’s story and to what is needed to reach workable agreements.
Concretely, I can:
- offer structure and clarity within the conversation
- help foster mutual understanding
- create space for what is present, without letting it escalate
- support the development of clear and sustainable agreements
How a mediation process works
A mediation process unfolds in several steps, each tailored to your situation and pace:
- Introduction: we explore together whether mediation is the right step for you
- Exploration: we map out what is going on and clarify the questions, concerns, interests, and expectations involved
- Dialogue: we enter into conversation and work towards possible solutions
- Agreements: I help to clearly and thoroughly document the agreements reached
The agreements are recorded in a formal settlement. In the case of divorce, I draft a full divorce agreement (EOT), ready for court approval.
Throughout the entire process, I safeguard calm, confidentiality, and balance between both parties.
