About Helena

With more than 20 years of experience in communications, I have developed campaigns both locally and internationally for profit and non-profit organisations. Besides working in Brussels, I lived and worked for six years in Qatar, China, Singapore and London, where I focused mainly on crisis communications and boosting the visibility of Olympic sponsors around the Asian and Olympic Games. I also collected stories in Congo, India and Nigeria, which I transformed into powerful storytelling for a Belgian medical NGO.

These multicultural assignments taught me that successful communication goes beyond words alone; it is about mutual understanding, respect and the ability to build bridges between different perspectives. This reinforced my belief that real human connection starts with sincere and thoughtful communication. My people-centred approach is therefore at the heart of everything I do.  As a bridge builder, I believe that personal connection within organisations also leads to sustainable business success.

My love for language and storytelling has been a consistent thread throughout my life. At 18, I obtained my final diploma in diction and elocution with highest distinction and won the Hendrik van Veldeke award for spoken word art. As a member of the literary voices club ‘Les Liseuses Fabuleuses’, I brought poetry to life in unexpected places, such as in a supermarket or on a Ferris wheel. I also presented events, acted as a spokesperson on radio and TV, and guided creative herb walks, inspired by self-written scenarios full of imagination and poetry.

I obtained a Master of Arts in Media & Cultural Studies from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and a Bachelor's degree in Press and Communication Management (graduated with distinction) from the Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen.

I am fluent in Dutch, French and English. With my extensive experience, creativity and sincere commitment, I help organisations make communication human, authentic and meaningful.
